Welfare funds loan system (foreign residents can use it)
This is a welfare funds loan system for the people who became unemployed or separated from employment due to the Corona infection. And for the household which suffered by decrease income.
You don’t have to prepare a guarantor, you don’t have to pay interest.
Foreign resident also can use this system.
There are 2 options
(1) for those who separated from employment.
(2) for those who got unemployed
(1) for those who separated from employment. （緊急小口資金）
Who is eligible?
A household which is suffered by decrease income due to the separate from employment like unexpectable holiday or something like that.
If it’s because of Corona Virus, you just need a reduction of income and not to need to separate from employment.
How much can you borrow?
Generally up to 100, 000 YEN
If you are in the special situation up to 200,000

Someone in your family get infected Corona Virus.
Someone in your family is a Solo proprietorship
A family more than 4 people.
When do you have to pay back?
You don’t have to pay back 1 year.
You have to pay back until 2 years later.
No guarantor required, No need to pay interest.
How do you apply?
Go straight or mail to Council of Social welfare (社会福祉協議会) where you live.
(2) for those who got unemployed（総合支援資金）
Who is eligible?
A household which is suffered by decrease income due to the unemployment.
If it’s because of Corona Virus, you just need a reduction of income and not to need to be unemployed.
How much can you borrow?
Single household up to 150, 000 YEN
More than 2 people up to 200,000
How long can I keep borrowing?
Generally 3 months
When do you have to pay back?
You don’t have to pay back 1 year.
You have to pay back until 10 years later.
No guarantor required, No need to pay interest.
How do you apply?
Go straight or mail to Council of Social welfare (社会福祉協議会) where you live.
